Day 01 - Arrival in Delhi
Arrive at the airport from where you will be escorted to the hotel.
Day 02 – Tour of Delhi
The next morning, set out on a full day tour of this splendid capital city. Visit the Qutub Minar which is the tallest free standing minaret in the world. The next stop is the Humayun’s tomb, a perfect epitome of the mastery of architecture possessed by the Mughal. The guests get to visit the Rashtrapati Bhawan and the India Gate. Drive through the old city, visiting the Red Fort and Jama Masjid. Experience the bustling life of the streets with a rickshaw ride through the winding streets of Chandni Chowk. The last stop is Rajghat the Samadhi of Mahatma Gandhi
Day 3 - Delhi – Samode - Jaipur
The next morning leave for Jaipur on the way visiting Samode Palace. This was the royal second home of kings of Jaipur. Visit the charming little village which specializes in the craft of making lac bangles. You arrive in Jaipur by evening.
Day 4 - Jaipur
Enjoy a trip to the Amber Fort atop an elephant. The Shish Mahal at the fort is a stunning fusion architectural marvel blending Mughal and Hindu design. Visit the Jantar Mantar, an observatory built by the Maharaja Jai Singh II. The next stop is the City Palace which houses a collection of robes and gold lattice worked saris. The palace also has a painting gallery and an ammunition gallery.
Day – 5 – Jaipur Agra Transit
The next morning leave for Agra en-route visiting the phantom city of Fatehpur Sikri. This abandoned city was once the capital of the Mughal emperor Akbar the Great.
Day 6 - Agra
After breakfast, proceed to see the Agra Fort where Shajahan was imprisoned by his own son Aurnagazeb. From Agra Fort you’ll be driven to the highlight of the tour, The Taj Mahal. This stunning mausoleum took 22 yrs to complete and boasts of perfect symmetry and ingenious design work.. Later visit the tomb of Itmad ud Daulah, father of Noor Jahan. The tomb is the first Mughal structure to be built entirely of Marble.
Day 7 - Agra – Orchha- Khajuraho
From Agra, the tour takes you to Orchha, the stronghold of Bundela clan of Rajput rulers. The palace is a medieval city with palaces and temples. The city has a stunning palace complex which houses mural paintings. After lunch, drive towards Khajuraho which is about 182 kms away.
Day 8 - Khajuraho
Khajuraho was ruled the by the powerful dynasty of Chandela Rajputs who heavily patronized art and culture. The remnants of their fascination can be found in the splendid temples that they have crafted. The temples of Khajuraho are a world heritage site and is a must visit by anyone even remotely interested in medieval sculpture. Khajuraho also has a National park which is infact a tiger project park. The afternoon is free for you to relax
Day 9 – Khajuraho – Varnasi transit by flight
After breakfast, you’ll be driven to airport for the flight to Varanasi. Upon arrival in Varnasi, you’ll be escorted to a hotel. In the afternoon visit the temple of Bharat mata and in the evening witness the prayers at the banks of Ganges.
Day 10 - Varnasi – Puri transit by train
Early morning, take a serene cruise on the river Ganges, return to the hotel for breakfast and leave for Sarnath. In the evening leave for Puri in the ‘Nilanchal Express’
Day 11 - Arrival in Puri
The train arrives in Puri at 19:05 hours. You will be driven to the hotel for stay.
Day 12 - Puri
Leave for a tour of the town. Puri is a prime Hindu religious center and is famed for the massive chariot used in the ‘Rath Yatra’ procession. The city also has a nice beach where you can lounge the evenings.
Day 13 - Puri- Konark - Bhubaneshwar
Leave for Bhubaneshwar enroute visiting Konark, famed for the Sun temple. After lunch at Konark, the tour continues towards Bhubaneshwar, stopping at the village of Pipli. The village specializes in appliqué handicrafts. Once you arrive in Bhubaneshwar, check in at a hotel. Visit the Lingaraja temple, the splendid epitome of Kalinga art. Also visit the Parasurameshwar temple famed for its impressive latticed windows. The Rajarani temple is home to exquisite carvings and is a typical Oriya temple.
Day 14 - Bhubaneshwar - Calcutta
Leave for an excursion to the caves at Udaigiri & Khandangiri. Form Bubabeshwar you’ll be driven to the airport for flight to your final destination, Calcutta.
Day 15 – Calcutta
Set out for a sight seeing tour of Calcutta visiting the Victoria Memorial, Indian Museum, Jain Temple and Marble Palace. Afternoon is free to enjoy at leisure and to do some last minute shopping. After dinner, you will be driven to the airport for flight back to Paris.
