Destinations Covered: Delhi - Varanasi - Bodhgaya - Rajgir - Nalanda - Vaishali - Patna - Kushinagar - Lumbini - Balrampur - Sahetah - Lucknow – Delhi.
Day 01: Arrival in Delhi
Upon arrival in Delhi, you will be acquainted with the tour representative and driven to the hotel.
Day 02: Delhi
The morning is free to relax and get accustomed to the time zone. In the afternoon, visit the Buddhist Culture center.
Day 03: Delhi – Varanasi transit
You will be driven to the airport to board the flight to Varanasi. Once in Varanasi, you’ll be checked –in at the hotel. In the afternoon, visit the Sarnath, the place where Buddha preached his first sermon.
Day 4: Varanasi
Set out on an early morning cruise over the river Ganges. Later, depart for Bodhgaya by car/motorcoach. Once in Bodhgaya check-in at a hotel.
Day 5: Tour of Bodhgaya
Tour the holy city of Bodhgaya, where Buddha reached a state of meditation and subsequent Nirvana under the ‘Bodhi’ tree. On the walls of Mahabodhi temple are splendid images depicting the Lord Buddha in various facets.
Day 6: Bodhgaya – Rajgir transit
In the morning, depart by car/motor coach to Rajgir, the sacred town to all Buddhists. It was here that the Lord preached and mediated on the hill. The town is also famed for the holy seven springs, believed to have healing powers. You also get to visit the fifth century Nalanda University. You also get to visit the archaeological museums.
Day 7: Rajgir – Vaishali – Patna transit
Depart for private motor coach/ car to Patna, enroute visiting the town of Vaishali. Lord Buddha was known to visit the place frequently and during his last visit he told his disciple that they would see him no more. The town has some stunning Buddhist stupas. On reaching Patna, check-in to a hotel.
Day 8: Patna – Kushinagar transit
The next morning depart by car/motor coach to Kushinagar. The city of Kushinagar is where Lord Buddha attained Mahaparinirvana and breathed his last. Visit the Nirvana temple which enshrines a massive statue of the Lord in a reclining pose.
Day 9: Kushinagar – Lumbini – Balrampur transit
Depart for the village of Lumbini in the Indo- Nepal border by car/ motor coach. This tiny village was the birth place of Shakyamuni Gautam Siddhartha who later became Lord Buddha. Tour the quaint village visiting the sacred pond, Ashoka pillar and Mahadevi temple. Once you’re done with the sight seeing leave for Balrampur.
Day 10: Balrampur – Sahetath - Lucknow
On the 10th day, you’ll leave for the city of Lucknow by car/ motorcoach enroute visiting the famed Buddhist stupas in Satehmath. Once you arrive in Lucknow you’ll be checked in at hotel.
Day 11 Lucknow – Delhi transit
You’ll be driven to the airport to board the flight to Delhi.
Day 12 Delhi – Onward Journey
The tour concludes with your arrival in Delhi airport from where you continue to your onwards destination.
