Day 01: Delhi, Rishikesh (Altitude 1222 Ft.)
Tourists reach Rishikesh from Delhi by bus, traveling a distance of 225 kilometers. Rishikesh is the city of saints. Travelers then visit places like Swargashram, which is only four kilometers away and also walk on the Ram Jhoola and Laxman Jhoola. Overnight stay is at Rishikesh.
Day 02: Massoorie (Altitude 6050 Ft.)
On the second day, visitors take the bus and travel to Mussoorie en route Dehradun, the distance being 78 kilometers. The local sightseeing attractions here include Camelback Road, Company road, and Aerial Rope way . Notably, the sightseeing is done on foot. The overnight stay is at one of the Mussoorie Hotels .
Day 03: Syanachatti (Altitude 6540 Ft.)
Guests in the morning head for Syanachatti which is a 127 kilometers journey. Overnight at the city Hotel.
Day 04: Yamunotri (Altitude 10800 Ft.)
Pilgrims take the bus to travel to Hanumanchatti which is only 7 kilometers away from Syanachatti. From Hanumanchatti visitors travel to Janichatti, Fulchatti, and Yamunotri that is at a distance of seven km for which visitors will have to walk or take horse or a doli the cost of which the travelers will have to bear. Surya Kund is the hot water springs where pilgrims can cook rice by dipping the rice wrapped in cloth in the hot water and take back the rice as the Prasad. Pilgrims can perform their pujas to the Divya Shilpa which is located near the temple.
Pilgrims can bathe in the Jamunabai Kund which is another hot water spring and after the darshana of the Holy Yamuna get back to Syanachatti for an overnight stay.
Day 05: Uttarkashi (Altitude 3500 Ft.)
From Syanachatti, visitors head for Uttarkashi en route visiting Dhrashnu which is a 108 kilometers journey. Uttarkashi is known for its Kashi Vishwanath temple that dates back to over a century old . Visitors can also find the ashrams of Sadhus just two km away in the village of Ujali. Overnight stay is at Uttarkashi.
Day 06: Gangotri (Altitude 1222 Ft.)
The small town of Gangotri is at a distance of one hundred km from Uttarkashi and it is located along the bank of the Bhagirathi River. En route to the next destination, pilgrims can enjoy bathing at Gangnani - the hot water spring.
Visitors travel to Gangotri past the Lanka Bhairav valley. Gangotri is the mythological place where King Ansuman along with his grand son Bahgirath did a long penance pleasing Lord Shiva and brought the Holy Ganges River on earth. After the visit pilgrims return in the evening to Uttarkashi for an overnight stay.
Day 07: Sitapur, Rudraprayag (Altitude 6500 Ft.)
Post breakfast, visitors take the bus to Gaurikund which lies at a distance of 229 km from where they will travel to Kedarnath. The overnight stay is at Gaurikund.
Day 08: Kedarnath (Altitude 11817 Ft.)
The journey to Kedarnath from Gaurikund is of 14 km and on the way visitors can visit Ramvada and Garudchatti. Visitors can travel the distance by walking or on horse or in a doli the cost of which will be borne by the travelers. The Kedareshwar temple is believed to be built by the Pandavas in the ancient times. The temple is famous as one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of the country and devout Hindus undertake this pilgrimage once in their life.
At the Hanskund near the temple religious rituals are performed in the memory of ones ancestors and the recently deceased ones. There is also the Amrut Kund and the Shankaracharya shrine. Kedarnath is also the place of the confluence of the five rivers including the River Mandakini. The overnight stay is at Kedarnath.
Day 09: Sitapur, Rudraprayag (Altitude 6500 Ft.)
Pilgrims visit the Kedarnath temple and offer their prayers after which they return Sitapur for an overnight stay.
Day 10 and 11: Badrinath (Altitude 10248 Ft.)
On the tenth day of the Yatra, pilgrims travel to Badrinath from Gaurikund which is a 243 km journey traveling from places like Guptakashi, Rudraprayag, Pipalkoti and Joshimath. Badrinath is an ancient place of Hindu pilgrimage and is located on the banks of the Holy Alaknanda River. Pilgrims take a bath in the Tapo Kund and pay their visit to the Badrivishal. Brahamakapal is an important place for sightseeing as other places that are located within a three km distance from here. The overnight stay is in Badrinath.
Day 12: Shrinagar, Devprayag (Altitude 1910 Ft.)
Travelers board the bus that takes them to Joshimath, visitors can enjoy the longest ropeway ride of Asia at Auli at their own cost. After traveling a distance of 193 km travelers reach at Shrinagar and have an overnight stay there.
Day13: Rishikesh, Haridwar
Starting from Shrinagar pilgrims visit Devprayag the holy place of the confluence of Rivers like Alaknanda and Bahgirathi. In the afternoon pilgrims reach at Haridwar and take part in the holy worship of the Ganges River at Har ki Paudi. Overnight stay is at Rishikesh.
Day14: Delhi
On the last day of the Char Dham Yatra Tour, the pilgrims travel a distance of 225 km from Rishikesh to Delhi and here ends the Char Dham Yatra.
