DAY 01: Arrive Delhi Amritsar (train)
The Golden Temple, Dalai Lama Tour starts at Delhi, the capital city of India. On arrival, the tour representative would take you to the railway station to board a train for Amritsar from where you would be escorted to the hotel.
DAY 02: Amritsar
A trip to the Golden Temple is organized as it is the most popular temple of the Sikhs which is visited by a large number of Sikhs from all over the world. The main structure is the Sri Harmandir Sahib, which is built on a 67ft square platform in the center of the Sarovar tank which was known as Amrit Sarovar from which the name Amritsar was derived. The temple itself is 40.5 ft square and has doors facing all four directions. This magnificent temple made out of gold has magnificent golden domes which gleam in the sun and is one of the most beautiful Sikh temples in the country.
DAY 03: Amritsar Dharamshala (200 km)
On arriving in Dharamshala the Golden Temple, Dalai Lama Tour would check into the hotel. In the afternoon, we would visit McLore Ganj which is the popular local Tibetan Monastery. The tour can take permission to have an audience with His Holiness the Dalai Lama if possible. The night is spent at the hotel.
Day 4: Dharamshala Manali
Early in the morning the Golden Temple, Dalai Lama Tour leaves for Manali visiting the famous Jwalaji temple renowned for its Squat Golden Spire which contains a blue gas flame. The tour proceeds to Manali via Mandi and the Kullu valley. The night is spent at a hotel in Manali.
Day 5: Manali
In the morning after breakfast, the Golden Temple, Dalai Lama Tour can spend the entire day sightseeing. The interesting places to see is the Lord Krishna temple, the Vis hist Sulphur Springs, the Hadimba temple, the Buddhist Monastery and the bazaars. We return in the night at the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 6: Manali Keylong (160 km)
In the morning, we depart for Keylong via the Rohtang Pass. At the place we spend the night at the tented camps arranged for us.
Day 7: Keylong
In Keylong, the Golden Temple, Dalai Lama Tour takes you for sightseeing of Keylong which includes the famous monasteries of Khardang and Tayul. The night is once again spent at the camp.
Day 8: Keylong Serchu (180 km)
The Golden Temple, Dalai Lama Tour drives down to Serchu via the Baralaucha Pass which is 4891 meters in height. You are driven via the Zing Zang Bar and Nakila Pass. On arrival, the group is checked into tented camps for the night.
Day 9: Serchu Leh (180 km)
The Golden Temple, Dalai Lama Tour departs for Leh via the Tang-Lang La Pass and the Sechunthang Plateau. On arrival, the group is checked into a hotel in Leh.
Day 10: Leh
In Leh you will be taken for a sightseeing tour of the Sabu Monastery and Oracle at Ayu and the SOS children village. In the afternoon we would visit the Spituk and Phyang Monastery. We would return for the night at the hotel.
Day 11: Leh
The entire day is spent visiting the Stakna and Shey monasteries, the Stok Palace and Matho.
Day 12: Leh
The entire day is spent visiting the Tokthok monasteries, Thiksey and Chemre. At night, the Golden Temple, Dalai Lama Tour returns to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 13: Leh
The day is spent relaxing at the hotel in Leh.
Day 14: Leh Delhi
The Golden Temple, Dalai Lama Tour leaves for Delhi by the domestic flight and checks into a hotel upon arrival.
Day 15: Delhi
The entire day can be spent exploring the capital city of India. There are numerous monuments to visit such as the Qutub Minar the largest minaret in India, Jama Masjid the largest mosque, India Gate a war memorial and more.
Day 16: Delhi Back Home
The representatives of the Golden Temple, Dalai Lama Tour would provide you with transfer in time to the airport to catch the flight back home.
