DAY 01: Srinagar - Pahalgam
On your arrival in the city of Srinagar, the summer capital of the state of Jammu Kashmir, you will be received by our representatives and driven to Pahalgam. Pahalgam is a town that is popular for its scenic beauty and is located 320 kilometers from Srinagar. After a 10 hour long drive, you will be transferred to a hotel in Pahalgam, where you could enjoy an overnight stay.
DAY 02: Pahalgam - Chandanwari
Pahalgam, which is also known as the valley of shepherds, is a popular base for several treks. From Pahalgam you would leave for Chandanwari, which is located at a distance of 16 kms from Pahalgam. Chandanwari is located at a height of 2896 meters and is a valley located at the intersection of Astanmarg and the Sheshnag stream. Once you arrive in Chandanwari, you could enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in the tents that are provided.
DAY 03: Chandanwari - Sheshnag
On the third day of your tour, you will move to Sheshnag from Chandanwari. Sheshnag is located at a height of 3576 meters and lies at a distance of around 13 kms from Chandanwari. On the way to Sheshnag, the trail continues through Pisu Ghati and further moves to Lake Sheshnag. Incidentally, Sheshnag is said to be one of the windiest locations in Jammu and Kashmir. The journey to Sheshnag will take around 5 hours. After you arrive in Sheshnag, you could enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in the tents that are provided.
DAY 04: Sheshnag - Panchtarni
Panchtarni is located at a distance of about 13 kilometers from Sheshnag and is at a height of 3657 meters above sea level. On your way to Panchtarni, you would have to walk through the Mahagunas Pass that is located at a height of nearly 3200 meters above sea level. Dinner and an overnight stay in Panchtarni would be arranged for in tents.
DAY 05: Panchtarni Amarnath - Sheshnag
You would leave Panchtarni and trek to the Amarnath cave, in the morning. The cave lies at a distance of about 6 kms from Panchtarni. Outside the Amarnath cave, you could plunge into the ice cold water of the Amarnath stream. Inside the Amarnath cave, you would find three massive Lingas or ice structures that symbolize Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvathi and Lord Ganesh. After a tranquil experience in the glistening Amarnath Caves you would have to trek back to Sheshnag.
DAY 06: Sheshnag Pahalgam - Srinagar
On the sixth day of your tour, you could enjoy a trek from Sheshnag back to Pahalgam, through Chandanwari. From Pahalgam you would be driven to Srinagar. While at Srinagar, you could enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in the houseboats.
DAY 07: Srinagar
In Srinagar, you would be taken on a sightseeing tour to the Mughal Gardens. Here you will also visit Nishat Bagh, which is more popularly known as the Abode of pleasure. This famous Garden was built by the brother of Jehangirs wife, Asif Khan, in 1632 AD. You could also visit the Shalimar Bagh or the Abode of Love, which was built for Noor Jehan by Jehangir, her beloved husband. Most of these gardens are located on the banks of the Dal Lake. While in Srinagar, you will also get a chance to visit factories where, carpets are woven.
After a sightseeing tour in Srinagar, you could have a tasty meal. After lunch, you can enjoy a ride in a Shikara, on the Dal Lake and also visit the various floating gardens and the vegetable gardens amongst several other places. Dinner and an overnight stay will be arranged for in a deluxe houseboat.
DAY 08: Srinagar
The day is free, and you could enjoy various activities like shopping. Dinner and an overnight stay will be arranged for, in houseboats.
DAY 09: Srinagar - Jammu
Day nine marks the end of the Sri Amarnath Yatra. Early in the morning you will be transferred to Airport / TRC to drive or fly back to Jammu / Delhi.
